Support
Ovrlay layers vintage textures — film grain, light leaks, aged paper, film-camera looks — over your photos and exports at the photo's own resolution. If something isn't working, start here.

your device, OS version and what you were doing when it went wrong
gets you a real answer on the first reply.
Subscriptions and billing
What Pro unlocks
The free tier gives you the full editor, the 12-overlay Starter pack and standard export with a small watermark. Ovrlay Pro unlocks all 20 packs (364 overlays and film looks), removes the watermark, and adds HD and 4K export, saved presets and batch export — plus every pack we add later.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are billed by the store you bought them through, not by us, so cancelling happens there:
- iPhone / iPad: Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Ovrlay → Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Play Store → your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Ovrlay → Cancel.
- Web: use the link in your purchase receipt email.
Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for. Refunds are handled by the store, not by us — Apple's is at reportaproblem.apple.com, Google's under your Play order history.
I paid but I don't have Pro
Open Settings → Restore purchases in the app. That re-reads your receipt from the store and re-applies the entitlement. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account or Google account you bought with. If it still doesn't take, email us the store order number and we'll sort it out.
Using Pro on another device
On a new phone or tablet from the same store, signed in with the same Apple Account or Google account, just tap Settings → Restore purchases. Nothing else is needed — the store remembers the purchase, not us.
Moving between stores — iPhone to Android, or on to the web app — is different: the App Store and Google Play can't see each other's purchases, so there has to be something of ours linking them. That something is an Ovrlay account. Create one free in Settings → Account and sign in on both, and your Pro membership follows you.
If you subscribed without an account, nothing is lost — make one and sign in on the device you subscribed on, then tap Restore purchases. That attaches the existing subscription to the new account, and it will then work everywhere you sign in.
Your photos and projects are a separate matter: those live on the device that made them and never leave it, so they don't travel between devices even with an account. See where your projects are stored.
Free trial
The annual plan starts with a 3-day free trial for new subscribers. Cancel any time before it ends and you are not charged; the store shows the exact renewal date under your subscription.
Photos and exports
My export looks lower resolution than I expected
Export resolution is chosen on the export screen. Standard is a screen-sized render; HD and 4K re-render your whole layer stack at the photo's true resolution and are Pro features. Exports never upscale, so a smaller photo exports at its own size rather than being stretched to 4K. If an export comes out smaller than the size the app quoted, please tell us the photo's dimensions and format — we'd like to look into it.
The app can't open my photos
Ovrlay only asks for the photos you pick. If the picker comes up empty or the app says it can't read a photo, check the photo permission: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Ovrlay, or Android Settings → Apps → Ovrlay → Permissions.
Where are my projects stored?
On your device. Your photos and edits are never uploaded to us — see the Privacy Policy. That also means uninstalling the app, or clearing this site's browser storage on the web app, deletes them permanently. There is no cloud copy for us to restore, so export anything you want to keep.
Account
An account is optional. It exists only to carry your Pro membership across your devices — it stores your email address and nothing else. You can delete it, and the email address with it, at ovrlay.photo/delete-account or by emailing us from the address on the account. Deleting the account does not cancel billing; cancel in the store as above.
